Electric Partnership Program

The Electric Partnership Program (EPP) can help you lower your electric energy usage by offering a free in-home energy assessment. If you qualify, a trained Energy Manager will schedule an appointment at your request to look at high energy users in your home. During the assessment the Energy Manager will ask you questions about the appliances you have in your home and how often they are used. He or she will then develop a customized action plan designed to help you lower your energy consumption.

The Energy Manager may also install compact florescent light bulbs in your light fixtures and meter your refrigerator and/or deep freezer to see how much energy they are using. Based on the results of the testing, if your refrigerator and/or deep freezer do not meet the EPP designated energy efficiency guidelines, they may be replaced with a new Energy Star product at no cost to you!

Eligible customers include residents of Franklin County who have an annual household income equal to or less than 150 percent of the federal poverty guidelines and who use, on average, more than 350 kilowatt hours of electricity per month. The program is administered by Ground Level Solutions and is funded by the Ohio Department of Development’s Office of Community Services. For more information or to apply for the program, please call Ground Level Solutions at 614-861-7992 and ask to speak with an EPP customer service representative today!

Home Weatherization Assistance Program

The Ohio Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) is a no-cost energy assistance program designed to increase the energy efficiency of homes owned or occupied by income-eligible Ohioans. HWAP is federally funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and state funded by the Ohio Department of Development. It is provided to Ohioans at no cost for customers whose annual household income is at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. Locally, HWAP is administered by Ground Level Solutions through a grant with the Ohio Department of Development's Office of Community Services.

If you qualify, a certified energy inspector will be scheduled to perform an in-depth assessment of your home’s heating and/or air conditioning system, insulation, ventilation, and various health and safety issues. Some of the services that may be provided include furnace and water heater repair or replacement, air sealing, insulation, and duct sealing. After weatherization, households that heat with natural gas reduce space heating consumption by an average of 24.7 percent, and electrically heated homes reduce usage on average of 13 percent.

For more information or to apply for the program, please call Ground Level Solutions at 614- 861-7992 or 1-800-537-8210 and request to speak with an HWAP customer service representative today!

American Electric Power (AEP) Energy Efficiency Program

Designed to work in conjunction with our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP), The American Electric Power (AEP) Energy Efficiency Program can provide and install energy efficient electric measures at no cost to you. These measures include compact florescent light bulbs, energy efficient shower heads, and water heater insulation blankets.

During the HWAP inspection, the inspector will also meter your refrigerator and/or deep freezer to see how much energy they are using. Based on the results of the testing, if your refrigerator and/or deep freezer are consuming more than 3 kWh per day, they may be replaced with a new Energy Star product at no cost to you.

Eligible customers include AEP customers who reside in Franklin County and are currently participating in one of the following energy assistance programs: Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP), or Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP) Plus. The program is administered by Ground Level Solutions and is funded by American Electric Power. For more information or to apply for the program, please call Ground Level Solutions at 614-861-0068 and ask to speak with an HWAP customer service representative today!
