Thinking about hosting a garage or yard sale in Whitehall? These types of home sales can be a great way to make a few extra dollars while promoting recycling and reuse of your unwanted items. 

Local ordinance requires that property owners and/or tenants to obtain a Home Sales Permit to host yard sales, garage sales, etc.. Please complete a Home Sales Permit application and return it to the Service Department, either in-person or via e-mail to communityaffairs@whitehall-oh.us

Garage/Yard Sale Requirements

  • Frequency: Sales are limited to two occasions per calendar year. 
    • Exceptions: During the Spring Clean-Up each year, no Home Sales Permit is required, however all other provisions of the City’s Home Sale regulations apply to these permit-free sales. This sale will not count toward your limit of two sales per year.
  • Signage: One sign no larger than 3 square feet may be placed on the property where the sale is taking place. Signs may not be placed on utility poles, street signs or in any location other than the address where the home sale is being conducted.
