Help the City of Whitehall officially open our newest park with a series of three events collectively coined "Open the Green."
Meet at the Green
Meet at the Green for the official park Ribbon Cutting ceremony (including the unveiling of the new park name)!
The unveiling will be followed by "Cars and Coffee" sponsored by Byers Auto.
1:30 p.m.: Flower Planting at the Pavilion with Mayor Maggard
Help Mayor Maggard plant spring flowers at the new pavilion. Open to any interested youth.
1-4 p.m.: Recycling Drop-off Event

Wednesday, May 5 is an “Unlimited Collection Day” for Whitehall residents, but we can all do our part to divert our unwanted but reusable/recyclable items from the landfill. Go Green by bringing the following items to the free Recycling Drop-Off Event.
Keep the following "groups" together while sorting for easier drop-off:
- GROUP A:
- Gently used clothing and linens
- Usable (working) electronics
- Furniture (Free of rips/stains)
- GROUP B:
- Non-functioning electronics (No TVs or CRT computer monitors)
- GROUP C:
Win Some Green: Whitehall Cornhole Tournament
5-8 p.m., Advance registration required
Win Some Green at Parks and Recreation’s Cornhole Tournament! 26 teams will battle it out for bragging rights, with the first two teams taking home prizes sponsored by local Statefarm Insurance Agent Greg Wolfson and Lowes.
- Grand Prize: $500 (Sponsored by Statefarm Insurance, Agent Greg Wolfson
- Second Prize: Grill (Sponsored by Lowes)
Registration is $20 per team, and is first-come, first-served. Each team must have at least one adult (age 18+).
Finding the New Park
The new park is located within Norton Crossing, the new development at the southwest corner of Broad Street and Hamilton Road. The park can be accessed from Broad Street or Fairway Boulevard by way of Hamilton Road.
